Once in a golden hour I cast to earth a seed. Up there came a flower, The people said, a weed. To and fro they went Thro' my garden bower, And muttering discontent Cursed me and my flower. Then it grew so tall It wore a crown of light, But thieves from o'er the wall Stole the seed by night. Sow'd it far and wide By every town and tower, Till all the people cried, "Splendid is the flower!" Read my little fable: He that runs may read. Most can raise the flowers now, For all have got the seed. And some are pretty enough, And some are poor indeed; And now again the people Call it but a weed.
Poetic Flower.

Tester Found

Yay I found my testers for my little hat pattern.

I have 7 and I am so happy that they wanted to test the pattern.  I am almost positive it will be a free pattern but I would like to make sure it works out before putting it out there.

Thanks ladies for volunteering and can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

*In Crochet News*

I am taking testers for my "spring into winter" hat I did for my daughter.  I hope to get a few people who like to try it.

I am sure I will offer it as a free pattern but I would like to have it tested before I put the pattern out there.

Well I am off to get some work done.

Melissa Needs

Melissa Needs..............

a camp job

at least 10 hours of sleep a day (that is a lot of sleep)

to take a break

maintenance manuals

some phone help from a local tech person diangosing a mysterious computer problem

get on board with her new body (oh how I wish)

needs to make more albums

Well actually google didin't get any of them right.......what I actually need is some more yarn and some really good patterns.  My mind is a total blank right now and I am having a hard time coming up with any new patterns of my own.  I have hit a wall, so right now I am just searching for patterns I find interesting and maybe my creativity will come back some day.

I have decided to take a photography course via at home and can't wait to get started.  I have always loved taking pictures but never got them to be as good as I wanted and now I am going to take the plunge and do something for myself.

My kiddos and hubby are doing awesome.  Both kids are taking a nap right now and hubby is playing golf and my house is spotless thanks to a 3 hour morning of deep cleaning. (my husband cleaned the bathrooms - he is the best).

I am working on a shawl right now and have finished the big girls hat and will have pics for Deneen and Bron with her wearing it soon.  I am also getting ready to start on a shrug for the big girl and some more booties for the baby girl.  I will also have pics of the booties that Deneen made her soon as well.....they are so cute and are the only ones she can't kick off, love it!!!!!!

I have recently taken my christianity to a whole nother level and was baptized in our church a few weeks ago.  Let me tell you it has been such a change in my life.  All the drama and negativity that once was in my heart has been replaced with forgiveness, happiness and eternal love and understanding.   I am so blessed to have all I have in this life and God that forgives me for my mistakes and takes away my burdens and loves me unconditionally.

Have a blessed weekend!!!!

ROAK from Deneen

Thank you so much Deneen for the gorgeous baby booties you sent  baby Nat.

They are the most beautiful crocheted booties I have ever seen and Nat loves them.

*I will have pics as soon as my camera is up and running again*

I am working a few crocheted things right now and hope to have something finished before starting another WIP.

I am currently working on a shawl, afghan and newsboy cap

*pics will be posted of them soon as well*

Baby Nat got here a few weeks ago and we are so happy to finally have her here.  Her big sis is amazed by the little and is a great help to mommy and daddy.

Its feeding time - so until next time.

Soap Suds

I have been making soaps like crazy lately and have a few for sale.  These are great gifts and I am giving away several for bachelorette parties and bridal shower gifts.

(this is for a mexican themed bachelorette party with a toy inside)

this bar has a small flower in the middle

Flip Flop

Purses (two different designs)

This new hobby is very relaxing and you get instant gratification.  It doesn't take long to make them and they come out beautiful.

I have made a ton and gave a ton away and so far everyone seems to love them.  So when I don't have something on the hooks then I will have soap cooking on the stove.

So I have done a little crocheting with all my time off lately.  I am still working on a few afghans and purses but I did get 2 shawls done and I am working on a third.

This is my little girls shawl.........

And this is the one for myself.  Same pattern just different yarn.  Don't pay attention to the ends, I hate weaving them in and will eventually get around to it.

I have been in and out of DoD lately and have missed some of the fun for Thong-a-long Thursdays.  I think I will have to get out some nasty acrylic and make one myself and submit.   The gals over there have created some awesomely gross thongs and they are too funny and quite creative.  But I just know there is someone out there that is thinking a crochet thong is a good idea.........well it is not, it is gross gross gross.

Also, crocheted lingerie is also bad.  Please ladies, spend a little money and head over to Victoria's Secret and get real lingerie.   You will be happier and less chapped!!!

Just because you can crochet it, doesn't always mean you should!!!!  Some things are better left as they are.  Crochet shouldn't take over the world or your household, and besides a we all know that a totally crochet decorated room is not attractive.  So use it spariningly and have fun with it!!!

Well I am off to clean something or take a nap, can't decide yet which one sounds better.

I guess I should take the nap since Miss Baby will be here by the end of this week!!!

Off Bedrest

For those following the blog, I was recently on bedrest for pre-term labor at 33 weeks pregnant.

I am now 37 weeks pregnant and all is well!!  The baby is growing and kicking like crazy.  I am still on Brethine until next week and then we will let nature take its course.

The nursery is all done and I am so excited about the new little one getting here, but I don't want to rush anything and want her to be healthy.

I have not been crocheting a whole lot these days.  My attention span is very short and I am so exhausted that I barely get anything started much less done.  I am going thru my nesting phase and so housework has been at the top of my list.

The big sis is ready for her baby sister to be here as well.  She is so excited about helping mommy with the new baby and she has already picked out a ton of toys she played with as a baby to give to the new baby........very sweet, I know!!!!

My first baby is turning into such a big girl and I am a little sad.  She is becoming more independent and doesn't need my help much these days, except with cleaning her room.  She will be four this year, I can't believe how the time has flown by.

Well I am off to load the dishwasher.........

Sick Day

Today I am too sick to think, but I will try to get thru this day as best as I can.

(warning graphic description of sickness)

I woke up this morning puking and noticed there was blood in the puke, so I called my mom (who is my dr.'s nurse) and asked if I needed to come in and see the doctor.  She asked if the baby was still moving and she is.......a lot, and that I probably just ruptured some membranes from puking so hard and that is why I noticed blood when puking up stomach bile and as long as I don't puke anymore today, I should be fine and will get over it.  I wish she could convince the rest of my body because I am feeling like horse shit!!  I have been rode hard and hung up wet and it sucks!!

I do have one CFO to share today......

My little girl loves purses, especially those made by mommy, and she was begging me for one to carry her toy horses around, so here is what I came up with yesterday.

Now while others make think it is a total fug, my daughter loves it and after I weave in those pesky tails, she will have it full of her horses.

Well I am off to try not to puke.

Pics!

Here is the package from my Secret Pal Hilary...........she was an awesome pal and very sweet.

Thanks for all the goodies Hilary, I love them all

This is my WIP for the Wrapped in Ribbon Tote from Melissa.......just a few more rows and she will be complete.

And here is the Econo Bag (from Natalie) I made for my niece........she loves yellow and her my kiddo have requested many more of these so they can play grocery store with them and raid our pantry.

I am still adding fringe to the Paris Shawl and have pretty much taken a break from it right now.

I also won this yarn on Ebay and can't wait to get it.

I will probably do a shrug or shawl with this yarn but not quite sure yet.

My daughter had her first tumbling meet this weekend and got 3rd place in her age group and ability level.  I was so proud to see her out there tumbling and have such a good time, she has only been taking classes for about 2 months now and really loves it.  She is very tiny and looked so sweet out there tumbling with some bigger kids and she was not scared at all of all the people there.....I am having a proud mom moment.

Well I am off to get some work done and maybe finish up some WIPs I have laying around.
